Just wanted to say Hi. My life has been flushed down W’s and Obama”s toilet.

I made it as far as Okemo last year, and it was the worst day of skiing I ever had. They had some kind of festival and it was like an anthill. Plus it RAINED all weekend.

Maybe we can do some skiing this winter. After thirty five yeaqrs, i had forgotten that I am a pretty good skier. Best to you, and if I ever straight3en out my financial mess, I’ll be in touch.

Hope all is well, and I really don’t have an e-mail right now. I would like to thank the government for letting in the pork chops who only do jobs that Americans wont do. I am lucky to maqke $150 a day right now.

but I hate to say it – the time for decisions in regard to what measures ought to be taken is not when one is on one’s deathbed or nearly there. Especially if these decisions are, as I agree with you, very serious decisions to be made.

EOL counseling doesn’t involve a bureaucrat. What they are referring to is approving payment to doctors who bill for their time, even to counsel their patients. When the doctor counsels the patient, the patient decides who else they want in the room during counseling, not you, nor any bureaucrat. I’ve been through this twice, sadly, and when the doctor sends a patient home with only hospice care the patient and the family have a lot of questions for the doctor, for example what symptoms to look for that indicate the end is near.

We all pass. Some choose to stay in the hospital, most wish to go home and be with family and familiar surroundings, some want lots of morphine while some want only a little, etc.., etc… The worse scenario is no EOL counseling, no booklets that explain what happens in the last days, wild expectations, no one knowing what to expect, etc…

The time to revisit EOL counseling is, of course, when the patient understands their condition and prognosis, not merely when they’re healthy and believe they’ll live forever, so you’re plain wrong on that point as well. When you have terminal cancer it doesn’t mean you can’t think straight. Most people fight cancer for a year or more after initial diagnosis.

But, for others this is a calculus that is bent on getting as many people reliant on government largesse and support as possible, both in terms of “purchasing” constituents votes and transforming our society into a more socialist and collective one. And still for others it is simply the realization of a long held agenda to try and fit the US into more af a “European” societal model. As far as the desire to include illegals? Some of that concern is rooted in legitimate cost reduction and compassion, that’s true; but the over-riding desire was based in the Democrats cynical courting of illegal aliens as a constituency, and this but the latest in a their efforts to bribe them for their support. After all, it is a fact that in some large “blue states” there is no ID requirements for voting, and where there is, the “motor-voter” laws have polluted the voting pool with many who shouldn’t be enjoying that privilege…

And don’t play a version of the chickenhawk card on me about death panels. I empathize with your experience, and have seen it occur in my own family as well. But the government need not be using the force of law to mandate such living-will counseling outside of the Medicare and VA provisions in place already. Also, as long as complete life philosophy eugenists like Zeke Emmanuel and craven incrementalists like Tom Daschle are involved on a panel that will be deciding how care asstes wilol be distributed, with no recourse to a higher authority or the natural competitive pressures of the marketplace, I will be uncomortable with the FCCCR, the role it is to play, and the authority over life and death matters given it…

As far as your weak foreign policy tea argument? All I’ll ask you is, in a hypothetical business deal involving a competitor, would you willingly surrender all of your advantages and perhaps the realization of an appreciable share of benefit for doing so? I think not…

Time wil tell if the Russians are more willing to deal cooperate with us on Iran; I for one am suspect though. I believe that they will play a convenient game of realpolitick; acting as though they are with us knowing full well that a Chinese veto will as surely kill any planned ramping up of sanctions as surelu as theirs would. Pigswoggle on your emotive eruption. When they send your loved one home from the hospital not to get well, but to pass, they do thus after a sit-down with the direct family members and the attending doctor. Discussions revolve around topics such as whether to call an ambulance for revival purposes, in other words, my Mom was sent home with what they thought would be two-weeks to a month to live. If she had a stroke or a heart attack, she decided and informed my Dad and us that she didn’t want to be revived. Get it? EOL counseling isn’t a stupid fuckin’ game. It’s a rough day, for all, but it’s necessary, and when a patient has bone cancer to the extent that to breath causes pain, to the extent they’ll never get out of bed again, to the extent that they understand what is happening and accept it, there are issues that need to be discussed.

You hold no sway, you overly political tard, until you’ve been through it. It’s only then that you’ll get it.
