More Van Jones: Bad “Music”

Hot on the heels of Jim Hoft's exposing that Van Jones was on the board of the stridently anti-American, Truther publication WarTimes--for a year and a half, contrary to his assertions--comes yet another insult, this time to the ears of the American people.  Verum Serum has dug up his hatey pseudomusical rant.  I suggest that you listen to it with ear stoppers.

What a goof.  I think that he's got a position waiting at Air America, though his eye-candy status may make him the perfect successor at (formerly) Don Cornelius's Soul Train.  And lest anyone say that he snuck by and into the White House, here's Valerie Jarrett talking about how they've been watching him for a long time.  Scott Baker does a nice job untangling the skein of Chicago relations out of which Jarrett arose, too.  Red diaper, all the way.

Meanwhile, hard-working Ashley Dupre feels that she's been dicked around, screwed over, diddled, given the shaft, and generally f*cked, compared with Eliot Spitzer, who has landed a job at City College of NY, where he'll undoubtedly be able to consort with many more fine-looking young ladies, on a more professional basis.  She looks good in that "I <3 NY" shirt, though somebody should add the characters, "for $".  And, post-racially, Reverend Wright announces that Oprah's not committed enough to social justice.

At Politico, Lisa Lerer observes that the Van Jones revelations comprise an entre into getting some scrutiny regarding the insane number of special advisors this President has authorized, with apparently little or nothing in the way of background checks:

The Jones debacle shows how czars — dozens of powerful problem solvers tapped to tackle some of the thorniest problems facing the country — could continue to cause problems for the White House. By some counts, the Obama administration has about 30 czars — a term used as shorthand for long, wonky titles such as Jones’s “Council on Environmental Quality's special adviser for green jobs.”

To be sure, every president in recent history has had his own czars: President George H.W. Bush appointed the first drug czar, President George W. Bush had a homeland security czar and Hillary Clinton promised to create a “poverty czar” if she won the presidency.

But with so many more czars than previous administrations, the Obama White House faces greater potential for controversy. And the Van Jones case has clearly hit a nerve.

Apart from Fox and Jake Tapper, what you get in the MSM is crickets.  Of course, a twenty year old thesis is bigger news than Van Jones at the WaPo, and the scary part--assuming for the sake of argument that he's not really a Truther and that he signed that shit for purposes of political expediency--is that nobody's really talking about how truly cracked the idea of a centrally planned Green Economy is.  As Karl says, that's a special kind of crazy.

  1. Van Jones? Who is he? I mean, I’ve never heard of him on the MSM, EVAH! Wasn’t he that smooth motown singer that all the ladies adored in the 70′s and 80′s?

I mean, c’mon Dan. A believeble source warned me about falling for all of this “MSM jingo drumming” by the WINGNUT H8TERS!1!!1!eleventy. He’s got an MFA, so his worldview and philosophy dwarf my pitiful excuse for life experiences and learning…

Really though, think about it. Would our President, the most dreamy and post-racial-EVAH! allow someone as mean a h8ter as the wingnutz are making the learned, erudite, and urbane Mr. Jones out to be…

    Remember the narrative, Dan…The narrative

  2. Those of us who are believers should be on our knees hourly, thanking the Deity that the b*ds are incompetent.

Given the damage they’re doing as is, imagine what it would be like if they had a f*ing clue.

    Regards,
    Ric
