Evil NY Post Goes After Public Servant Charlie Rangel Again
So it would go for Charlie Rangel over the next four decades — a pattern of tax evasion, special treatment and enrichment that seemed to increase with his power and prestige in Congress. Whether it’s living in rent-stabilized apartments while making a hefty salary, or failing to disclose hundreds of thousands of dollars in earnings and assets, his actions betray a consistent, defiant sense of entitlement. And when he is caught, the powerful Democrat blames a right-wing conspiracy.
Evidence continues to accumulate from far and wide that the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now is lousy with corruption. The latest revelations come from Louisiana and Oklahoma. In the former, the local ACORN Housing Corp. office received contracts worth a combined $625,000 from the City of New Orleans for repairing existing low-income housing and developing new units in poor neighborhoods. The contracts were paid for with funds from federal Community Development Block Grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. An investigation by the Pelican Institute think tank of New Orleans, however, found that no work was actually performed to fulfill the contracts. Worse, Pelican couldn't talk to the ACORN official managing the contracts because he had left the organization months ago. One more thing: The office address listed on the contracts for ACORN turned out to be a vacant lot, although new plumbing connections indicated a trailer had recently been located on the site.
Bertha Lewis sure has cleaned up the joint.
And, hey, look . . . Obama's going fundraising for Chris Dodd, who's psyched about the opening of Michael Moore's new film, "Capitalism."

Ah yes…
It seemed like a really grandiose lead-in to what was essentially whining about how people reacted to his provacative pronouncements…
I did notice that while discussing the part where he compared ACORN to the Catholic Church, that he chose to leave out the more rational commentary, such as mine, as well as omitting the logically flawed departure points for the arguments, such as when he compared the activities at a privately operated religious facility, “Jesus camp”, to the schoolchildren’s mandatory participation in lauding Obama in public institutions…
Seems like a flawed bit of moral equivalence employed by someone wishing to smear religious folks as well as excuse the actions of some zealously “progressive” public school teachers…
Overall I didn’t think much of the essay…
