Jeff Goldstein Posting Again at Paying Gig
I'm really happy for you, Jeff, and I'mma letchoo talk, but first I gotta . . . thank Geoff for putting up the skin. Rocks is what it does.
Now then, Jeff's going to be posting at The Qor, along with a bunch of other people whom you should be reading. It's a subscription thingie. Would I like to have your dollars? Why, yes, I would, but on the other hand, I think it's fair to say that Jeff's twice the blogger I am. I've heard Lileks is pretty good, too. Twenty dollars a month may seem pretty steep, but if you use the validation code POWIP, you won't get anything off your subscription.
My recommendation is that you acquire a pet, and use the tax write-off to purchase your subscription. If you occasionally harvest dual-use pets, that will also decrease your carbon pawprint.
You're welcome. Meanwhile, if you're against fur-wearing, you can consider this terrible example of Stockholm Syndrome.

Oh, what a world, what a world!

I like the new skin – it does rock.
Congrats to Jeff. He continues to contribute to the blog world. But I like my commentary like my porn – free.
And that HAPPY bill is, in my mind, a piece of crap. Lord knows we could use it – 5 dogs ain’t cheap – but the bill is still a piece of crap.
And Snark and Boobs? What a great name. I like her already!

As the owner of 3 pets, I too would enjoy any tax breaks given for their care; but I have and always will care for them regardless. And, I woud prefer that tax breaks are prioritized for humans anyway. Specifically, I’d prefer to see the Capital gains and business taxes reduced instead, as well as the renewing of the Boooooosh! tax cuts.
Cutting Business and capital gains taxes would do something useful, you know, like create jobs; a commodity sorely in demand these days. And the dirty little secret about the Bush tax curs were that they benefitted lower income Americans more, as measured by percentage of income, than the wealthy-regardless of all the demagoguery. If allowed to expire, a middle class family of 4 will find themselves sending approximately 50 dollars a week more to DC; that’s 50 bucks they could use to feed themselves, buy gas, or other goods and services in their local area.
Of course government spending would need to be cut too, for the tax breaks to be meaningful in the short and long term. I would suggest that retracting the discretionary entitlement increases of the last few years would be a very good place to start, as well as slashing corporate and individual welfare entitlements.
Finally, I too am glad to see Jeff back in the game. I wish hime well at his subscription site, but wonder just how many people can afford to pay for content at this time. And I may be nostalgic, but I miss the rollicking PW comment treads that accompanied his posts. I understand completely his need for a successful paying gig, but I have to admit feeling like a chapter has closed completely, and hope that it isn’t the last one in that metaphorical book.
So all the best heartfelt wishes of success for our pal Jeff G. I hope he realizes the material success, critical acclaim, and professional validation that he deserves so much…

Page rank is no longer the powerful determining ingredient that it used to be in SEO however it still offers a very good sign of your site’s popularity with the search engines. The page rank depends upon the amount of backlinks to your website and so you must increase your backlinks to increase page rank.
