PeonCare for You

Via Gateway Pundit (at his new location), from Townhall:

Personal doctors on call 24/7. Coverage that knows no caps. No exemptions for pre-existing conditions.

Those are the sorts of benefits members of Congress currently enjoy on the taxpayer’s dime, and the kinds of benefits Americans on a government-run public health care plan will never see if Obamacare passes.

“One thing is certain: Congress will exempt itself from whatever lousy health care system it forces on we little people,” said Michael Cannon, director of health policy studies at the Cato Institute. “Congress will get better insurance than you do because politicians always get a better deal under government-run health care.”

And about the NHS:

THE National Health Service has spent £1.5m paying for hundreds of its staff to have private health treatment so they can leapfrog their own waiting lists.

More than 3,000 staff, including doctors and nurses, have gone private at the taxpayers' expense in the past three years because the queues at the clinics and hospitals where they work are too long.

Figures released under the Freedom of Information act show that NHS administrative staff, paramedics and ambulance drivers have also been given free private healthcare. This has covered physiotherapy, osteopathy, psychiatric care and counselling - all widely available on the NHS. [....]

So, you know . . . suck it.

Politicians don't claim their assets? Let them refile. Hell, let them keep their chairs. Get sweetheart deals on their mortgages? Who needs investigations? They're above the law; why would you expect them to have the same kind of health care coverage as is good enough for you?

Is Eno an Oath Keeper yet?

Can you imagine Ruby Ridging the entire state of Oklahoma.

Sweet! Think of the aftermath, and all those healthy white babies that’d be up for adoption after their parents were, well, taken care of. Hehehe!

    • There’s nothing wrong with what that group is doing nor with their ideals. And they’re exponentially less hate filled and exponentially less racist than either Farrakhan’s followers or Jerimiah Wright’s…

But of course, the Southern hand-wringing law center doesn’t worry about racism, if it’s being practiced by the Wright kind of people…

While there’s little difference in you and Rev. Wright’s rhetoric, there’s a big difference in Oath Takers and Rev. Wright.

Why do you hate black people, Bob?

You don’t have to worry about being banned here; we’re not like D.U., Kos, or HuffPo where commentary that doesn’t conform to the echo-chamber never sees the light of day…

And you’re right about there being a difference between Oath Takers and Wright; the Oath Takers aren’t racists like Wright and Farrakhan are.

I don’t have to prove that I’m not a racist; it’s your burden to prove that I am…

And none of that “unconscious racism” sophist connivace please; we prefer intellectually honest argument here at POWIP.

The Oath Takers are nothing but racists and paranoiacs.

Wright and Farrakhan are just as different as you and me, unless you see black people as all one and the same, most racists to that, you know.

        • Oh, I’m sure that Wright and Farrakhan are very different people, they’re just both racists, that’s all…

And paranoiacs? Well, last week Farrakhan claimed the prostate cancer, which disproportionately afflicts black Americans, is part of a conspiracy-one he didn’t actually outline, or say who were the conspirators; but I’ll bet that it’s along the same line as Wrights fantasy-land accusation that AIDS was developed by whites to wipe out blacks…

The Oath Takers are not racist paranoiacs, but individuals rightly concerned about our country being dragged toward a proven failed statist model by the most leftist President in American history; moreso than Roosevelt becuse FDR didn’t have the benefit of watching the collapse of the great communist archtype-the failed former Soviet Union…

And you needn’t go to the trouble of changing name and IP, since I don’t think that there are many members of the POWIP commentariat that use trollhammer; but I could be wrong…

  2. I’d like to change the topic since the NHS is a single payer system that’s irrelevant to the changes being proposed to our broken health care system.

When I left yesterday I was 4-points up against the fantasy football team I was playing, and it was after Tom Brady hooked up with Randy Moss for a 40-yard TD strike. Week 6 is a big bye week for me so I had to play some of my back benchers. Again, I’m 4-points up, the team against me only had Tom Brady and Randy Moss playing while I had the Cardinals defense and WR Nate Washington of the Titans playing.

I come home and check the FF scoreboard, I’m 70-Goddamned points down, well, 67-points to be exact.

Nate Washington had -22 yards receiving. I’m thinking there’s a mistake because no receiver goes for -22 yards, but it’s true. Per the way the NFL keeps statistics Nate Washington, by virtue of fumbling after a catch and then losing 22-yards before recovering his own fumble, officially went for -22 yards. The Tennessee Titans only completed 2 passes the whole game, Nate’s -22-yarder being one of them, and thus the Titans, the whole fuckin’ team went down as having -7 receiving yards for the game.

You read the correct. The Titans went for -7 yards receiving yards in their 59-0 loss to New England, this while Brady threw for 6-TDs.

I’ve seen negative rushing yards for the entire game but never negative receiving yards.

    Unfuckingbelievable.

  3. Belichick will come to regret running the score up like that; the NFL isn’t college football…

Yesterday was a bad sports day all around for my household, with one dim exception. My MIL and my wife were dis-spitirited over the losses by the Jets and Giants; I don’t know which was worse, the Jets losing by incompetence or the nblowout suffered by the Giants at the hands of the Saints. Either way they were still pissed!

And for me? Well, the Ravens couldn’t find a way to beat the Vikings, and indeed save for the hearbreak of a young kicker missing a kick, in a dome, that the previous one, Stover, would have made was gut grinding indeed. Of course, the Redskins had to lose to the pathetic KC Chiefs-but who does that really make pathetic! And the Dodgers starting pitcher melted down in the first 1 1/3 inning, giving the Phillies a 6 run lead that they never looked back from; of course their pitcher, Lee, was auto-fucking-matic…

A all around depressing sports day at my household indeed…

  4. Oh, I almost forgot.

Simgle payer experiences are relevant thor, because if Obama get’s the “public option” he covets so, it won’t be 20 years before it is the single payer system of the land…

So it bears scrutinizing these same system. Additionally, it also demonstrates how at the socialist animal farm-where rhetorically all animals are equal and equality of outcome guaranteed, some of the animals are still more equal than others…

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

    • Sure, sort’a like how the gov’t selling gap property insurance put all the property insurance companies out of business.

Your idea of scrutinizing mostly means flat out lying. Our health care system does not stack up well compared to some of teh evol Socialist systems. Second-rate is not the American way.

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

      • It depends on how you measure our health care system.

You have to wait too long in most of teh eeeevoll Socialist systems…

There is rationing, instead of on-demand-care, in most of teh eeevoll Socialist systems…

There is no where near the innovation and discoveries as there are in our for-profit system…

Some of teh eeeevolll Socialist system’s operational philosophies are dangerously close to eugenics and the “complete life system” cover for what essentially are death panels.

And the Socialist nationalized health care systems generally cost a boatload of tax dollars to boot; while at the same time removing incentives for aggressive medical research.

Scrutinizing does not mean flat out lying, unless one belongs to the “by any means necessary” left. Ask yourself why we can’t reform health care in increments. Start with tort reform, portability, and record keeping reforms. Oh, and throw in the 500 billion dollar savings that Obama palavers on about so much. See what these do to the costs of insurance first; it may becoma a matter where paying for the uninsured to be so will be cheaper, and more effective, than nationalizing the industry…

        • You watch too much Fox News, seriously.

And you have no fuckin’ clue as to what you’re talking about, just like Ronald Reagan didn’t know what the fuck he was talking about when he was giving speeches on the evil of Socialist Medicare back in the ’60s.

You’re propaganda isn’t even worth listening to. All you want to do is be a soldier for failure and lies. I think America’s intellectual class is rotting away at a funeral pace, I forgot who said that but I swear it’s true. We’d could have had enjoyed the economic benefits of a Swedish-type medical system twenty years ago except for you squid humpers and your nonsensical lies. Get this, igno, they have better health care at a fraction of the cost of ours. Say otherwise and you’re a liar, meaning, of course that I get to stand at attention and scream “You Lie!”

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

        • Sweden has a much smaller population, and much, much higher tax rate. They don’t particularly mind assisted suicide and state paid abortion on demand, things that the majority of Americans oppose. And like most of the rest of the world, they benefit from America’s medical innovation and breakthroughs-that’s not to say that no other nations contribute to revolutionizing health care, just not on the scale or pace that we currently do here…

Like many other solutions that people point to a breathlessly intone, “why can’t we do that here”, there are matters of scaling and…wait for it…individual preference that preclude a Swedish, or British, style healthcare system from being implemented here just as predominantly ethanol fueled vehicles wouldn’t work as they do in Brazil either…

So Ten-hut, and scream liar all you want, but then you’d be…LYING!

Oh, and get this, Reagan was right about nationalized medicine, just as he was about defense issues, and many, many other things.

He wasn’t as nuanced as Obama, but he wasn’t a nancy boy like our current President either…

And look, get one thing straight. Don’t feel criticized by extension or implication when I criticize Obama’s policies simply because you vited for him. Don’t be so defensive! Let’s consider things in a truly detached and disinterested fashion, like the founders intended, and do what is best for our nation within the framework of personal liberty espoused by our constitution.

          Squid humper indeed…

  5. Bob Reed,
While I think your comments are, in general, very good, would you mind telling me exactly how Belichick ran up the score? (fair disclosure – I’m a Patriots fan). Isn’t it the other team’s job to stop you? What were they (N.E.) suppose to do? Just take a knee every time they got the ball? As the resident douchebag points out, the Titans had a total of -7 yards passing – how is that Belicheck’s fault?
From the rest of the football comment you made, it sounds like it would be a very trash-talking filled day if we watched football together – good times had by all!

As for the topic at hand, Congress has a history of exempting themselves from the rules they make for others (everyhting from smoke-free workplaces to minimum wages). And as Rangel demostrates, if they don’t exempt themselves, they just ignore the law. Making them suffer with the universal health care they plan for the rest of us should be a rallying cry – “You first!”. Imagine how much sooner Teddie would have died if we had had universal health care for all.

  6. agile dog,
I dodn’t actually see any of the game here in the NYC market, and so am only going by second-hand reports. All I meant was that in the NFL beatdowns of that magnitude, 59 to 0, are usually prevented by playing the second and third team offensive and defensive players in order to give the young-unz experience in real game situations. It seemed to me that Coach Belichick would have opted for that approach, especially after Tom Brady had thrown 5 TD passes in the second quarter! But you’re right that it was Tennessee’s job to actually play defense, so they deserved the whupping. I just hope that there weren’t too many suicide’s there today!

And I have to agree, having played back in school, that trash talk is an inherent and enjoyable part of all sporting contests. But I personally admired the players that talked only after the game, and instead of dancing on the end zone, simply flipped the ball to the ref and carried on with the game; who acted like they’d actually done it before!

I can imagine that as a Patriots fan you would have had a good time razzing my MIL and some of my wife’s brothers over the Jets’ loss; it was an ugly thing to sit here and watch-especially when they were pulling their hair out and calling for Sanchez’s benching.

They’re pretty hard core here in NYC. My wife is good naturedly rooting for the Dodgers along with me in the NLCS. But, should they have the good fortune of meeting her beloved Yankees (*spit*) in the World Series, I’m sure they’ll quickly become the biggest cheats and luckiest S.O.B.’s in baseball…

And truly, as someone who’s had a visceral disgust for the Yankees and had to watch them beat up on teams I rooted for for years, I can’t see how this isn’t going to be their year…As much as I hate to admit it…

    All the best

  7. On this the dog and I agree. Brady went for 5-TDs in the second quarter, an NFL record. None of the throws were that spectacular; the effen Titans defense looked like were playing drunk. Plus, you don’t call the dogs off in Q2.

Brady came out and threw one TD at the beginning of the third and then they sat him and played their backups.
