A programmer looks at the CRU hockey stick source code:
And now, I think, those people are going to pay. Because it could still be that full disclosure will vindicate the AGW crowd, but having read the CRU material…I don’t think so. In all of the scenarios that are now plausible, those who bayed the loudest about “consensus†and howled for the persecution of “denialists†are now set up for a hard fall.

One of the reasons AGW flimflam angers me is that it crowds out sane, constructive environmentalism. An environmental lobby that really cared about saving the planet would be agitating for crash programs to replace the burning of fossil fuels with nuclear energy; buying up rainforest acreage to stem loss of biodiversity; funding research into better battery- and supercap-based storage technology so low-density renewable power sources could be aggregated into baseload power. But the envorinmentalists we have won’t do these things, because they’re fixated on the wrong problems and the wrong means of solving even those.

If the historical temperature data were generally known to be garbage (which I was pretty sure was true even before the leak), it couldn’t be used to justify public policy that is both bad and expensive – like the U.S.’s “cap-and-trade†bill in progress, which has so many giveaways and exemptions that it subverts its own ostensible purposes.
Read the whole thing. The man writes so well, it's hard to believe he's a programmer.

How "the trick" was pulled off. And Monckton calls for UN to be shut down, warm-mongers to be jailed.
The web of warm-mongering connections is partially delineated in this important post at Big Government.
Regarding The Hague's decision that it has the right to try American and coalition soldiers for war crimes. No, the internationalists don't want hegemonic oversight of American sovereignty. Noel at Cold Fury has not unrelated thoughts about the Navy SEAL courts martial.
Obama finally does the right thing and hangs Zelaya out to dry. No connection at all, I'm sure, to Hugo's saber rattling at Columbia, or Cuba's war games preparation for an American invasion (under Obama?!!)

We should send ACORN over to Afghanistan so that they might subvert, corrupt and fleece the Taliban.
ACORN single-handidly defeated the Republicans in the last election. Even when you can’t see ‘um underhanded villains you know they’re out there. I’m trying to remember the words to the Ojay’s song Backstabbers right now.

They don’t have time, as they’re gearing up to do their part in keeping 2010 from being seen as the repudiation of Obama that it will be; and refining their strategies to steal the 2012 election once again…
The Afgahnis had Corporal Cue-Ball-T-Carville working for the opposition candidate, but all of the usual ACORN tricks didn’t work there…
Might have omething to do with a lack of interest on Soros part; there was no one to hand out the untraceable master-card gift cards for $200, so that when the candidate’s site dropped any pretense at credit-card-anti-fraud-security-protocol they could flood the Daddy Soros-buckas into Obama’s coffers…
That, and there was no major media leverage that they could “buy”…
ACORN is a criminal enterprise that should be facing a RICO investigation now insteaad of being ignored by AG Holder, just as he did with the NBPP. Because there are more important things to do than, you know, actually bring criminal bent on defrauding the electoral system through connivance, chicanery, and intimidation; especially when they’re among your many other paid political allies and paid skull-duggary specialists! Anyway, they have to make sure that the Boooooooosh! administration and the CIA get properly vilified in court-the true aim of the upcoming KSM “show-trials” in NYC; an unprecedented, politicized , act they they feel is among their top priorities…

You can make those arguments, if you’re cold zoomered in the head.
BTW, I swiped your intentionalism and the bologna and cheese sandwich out of your Keith Partridge lunchbox. I’m the one!

One of the reasons AGW flimflam angers me is that it crowds out sane, constructive environmentalism.
While I disagree with what he considers real environmentalism and what those goals would be, this has long been my concern – for over a decade now – about global warming hysteria. Its crying wolf, and what happens when people find out you’ve been crying wolf?
They ignore the wolf when it really does show up. Global Warming is not a horrific life-dooming threat, but we really ought to be good stewards of our environment and the land we’ve been given. All these guys are doing is making a mockery of that in the name of money, power, and socialist manipulation of the world.

AGW hurts the environment. Overfishing, market hunting and wild animal trade, over logging (third world) and other forms of habitat loss are catastrophic to some species, yet with the Al Gore types saying the real problem is AGW, that means no focus on the real culprits.
