Don't overlook the bone this throws professional bureaucrats either. Now they don't have to compete with outsiders who haven't "paid their dues" as part of the GS system... This is naive, instant gratification stuff; once again the Obamateur isn't considering the long term effects of this, and what it will mean for <i>his</i> political appointees in a few years-it's just expedient. I guess he figures by then he'll have been able to pull a Vhavez and will be presentdent for life... I wonder if that putz Schumer is going to wail and gnash teeth over this move like he did when Bush asked for the resignations of the 9, out of 100, US attorneys?
