I’ve Been Invited to Boston

to a blog row being set up for tomorrow's election, so this is a cup rattler.

I'm also looking into the possibility of heading to Haiti to help with relief efforts there (as I've been invited as well). I'm weighing the possibility that I might be able to do more good for this organization from here, though as horrible as Haiti might be, I feel that my soul-education will be incomplete if I don't go. Anyway, that's what's on my mind.

Seriously, no, not unless you’ve read AimÃ© CÃ©saire, C.L.R. James and even some Danticat. If you think Haitians are in need of brimstone proselytizing from a sneering, jeering Catholic snarkboy I think you’re sadly mistaken. Those are honorable yet blood-hardened people, and who are you but a tinged by colonialism soup cracker?

Please go to Boston, as the song goes. Sneer it up and yuk-yuk yourself there. No sunblock required.

  More likely Dan is in need of being human and living the calling to be love to strangers. My guess is that, unlike you, the Haitians are fairly color-blind at this point. And i bet they don’t care if Dan is Catholic or not.

    Dan in Haiti. No. That’s an island of humbled persons who know life from the bottom up. Dan claimed he’s a Ghoster, probably a birther too, and one becomes a Ghoster because they’re auto-suspicious of anyone with black skin, in my humble psychoanalysis.

      Case – meet our resident toll, Thor – for whatever reason this pox has entrenched himself on this particular intertube. from what we gather he is a closeted and self-loathing gay man, who likely lynched black men in his youth while attending a southern university in which he belonged to some frat of trust-funders. he is really and truly the worst sort of skunk. his purpose seems to be to project his race hatred on all others – especially those who are living what he doth indicates he subscribes to: namely, a color-blindedness MLK subscribed to.       Ah, thank you Enoch. I was curious as to what could prompt a man to write words of such malicious meaninglessness, but it now makes sense. After years and decades of concealing one’s sexuality due to the nature of the south, and years of hating blacks when that fad is quickly falling into the abyss into which so many fads have fallen, one must become very irritated. Having nowhere left to turn, this man (if we can call him a man, but I think that’s a bit generous) takes to the web in an effort to impose his frustration upon others.
