Obama’s Stunning Admission

How many times did Obama state bald-facedly that if you liked your health insurance, you were going to be able to keep it---and claim that those who represented otherwise were lying? William Teach has this to say about the admission that shocked Time:

Isn’t the media wonderful? The folks who have been against this legislative abomination of a health system bill have been saying that the bill would damage your ability to keep yourinsurance and doctor since this started around 8 months ago. In terms of insurance , forcing individuals and companies to switch to federal government approved plans was rather part of the point of the House and Senate bills, in a move towards full government runhealth care. Not necessarily single payer, but, a step in that direction. But, Time Magazine is stunned that Obama and the Dems would violate the pledge, ie, lie.

Layers upon layers of fact checkers helped demonize the Tea Party movement, because . . . they were right. So, the upshot is that these people "snuck" in legislation that ran counter to his promises, during the health negotations that nevertheless were openly held in plain sight on C-SPAN, despite the complaints of network executives that they were not.

Hmmmm. Maybe, contrary to luminaries such as David Brooks and Joe Klein, people aren't stupid. Maybe there's a reason there's a trust deficit. And, gee, I wonder what might be motivating Landrieu's criticism of President Obama's handling of HCR.
