I’m going to give it back to thor in spades(pun intentional). He threadjacks every post with this racism bullshit. Bob tried to politely debate him, and look where that got him. Don’t let the @$$hole ruin another blog.

Hey, if you’re enjoying yourself, good on you.
I usually just ignore thor, but he’s partly why my livejournal friends don’t come over here [the other part is that, well, we're all on lj and it's easy enough to comment over there]. They were really taken aback by his usually off-topic nastiness.

Admittedly I still fall for the threadjack-guised-as-debate ploy from time-to-time, but as often as not I simply won’t allow his final deranged words to hang in cyberspace as though they are unanswerable truths…
That and he questioned the efficacy of the Navy and insulted Naval Aviators-I couldn’t stand for any of that!
I say feel free to let him have it back in his own style!

Gomer, if you love America stop suckin’ America dry one welfare check at a time.
Advice of the day: Going to church doesn’t make you less of an a-hole, a-hole.

Only get it straight; my compensation for services loyally and honorably rendered is as far from welfare as one can get. Trust fund checks, on the other hand, are the very definition of living off of the labors of others. So, you first playah.
Oh, and going to church, and actually practicing what you learn there, would go a long way towards making you less of an a-hole…
Or at least make you feel as small as you actually are for being such a colossal one.
How’s that Waterloo working out for you? Is it one of the changes you hoped for?
Did you see the Kool-and-the-gang video I linked in my earlier post?

Bobbo, some years I pay more in taxes than your annual Navy welfare amounts to. Honest. And I ain’t rich, ha. That you burn so when I refer to your retirement as welfare is why I do that, e e ee. I couldn’t care less what you do, frankly. I have a b-i-l who is serving; he’s probably a lifer, been in 15-years, but I’m not best buds with him and so, for he like you, I don’t give a flying fuck. He’s got a fat wife and three rug rats living in Fort Benning to feed, more power to him. More power to you, too.
Here’s more advice, I don’t Facebook, MySpace or Twitter or own a blog nor regularly post on any other blogs. Get a job or a life. Seems to me social networking is a horrific money-losing waste of friggn’ time. All you penniless freaks actually do is display what you don’t know versus what you think you do.

Man why are you sock-puppetting SBP thor?
I’m glad to hear you do so well, muh man. I’m sure you’re generous with charities, and if not you should consider, you know, sharing the wealth…
I agree with you about the social networking thing. Aside from posting on this blog and opening a twitter account, to keep track of politicos and reporters, I don’t take part in any of those pursuits either.
I’ve talked many times about my work here for the local community as well as in church outreach ministries. I spend my time helping others. But if it makes you feel any better, I’m self employed. I design courses for talented youths, and am in partnership with some professional educators who run a private school. I’ve already done one on astronautics; which I “test drove”, so to speak, last summer. It went well and validates the material I’d chosen to cover and experiments I designed to illustrate the materials covered. As with most educational pursuits though, the real money will come from the text that I wrote to accompany the course; especially if the archdiocese decides to incorporate the material into their school science courses.
Lately I’ve been writing another one, on aeronautics, a course that I’ll be test driving relatively soon. That’s why I haven’t been around here all that much…
In fact, you’ve been here more than me lately.
Oh, and you shouldn’t use SBP’s name, I don’t think he’s appreciate it.

What do you mean it’s not funny to use SBP’s name? Evidently it’s the height of pure comedy. Thorisa McCheesedick? The comdic maturity level of people here… arf.
To answer your original question, no, I didn’t check out your Kool and the Gang video. How’s the Waterloo? Obama is President, you’re not. How’s that racist airhead act-thing workin’ out for you?
Know what a CMO is yet? Know who Archbishop Oscar Romero is yet? Details. Have to master the details, ya see, and get yourself a colonial education. You’re too comfy with your smug self. I.M.H.O.

My smug self? I don’t consider myself smug in any way thor. In what way do you consider me to come off that way?
I know what a CMO is, I know who Archbishop Romero was, and I know what Fannie/Freddie do, and have done. I know plenty of details, muh man.
As for a colonial education? Sorry I’m not refined, polished, and sophisticated enough by your measure. I’m a humble engineer who has spent much more time dealing with facts than subjective concerns such as art and literature. It’s a dirty little secret, but regardless of any conventional wisdom, the true value of art is in the mind of the person partaking of it; people like what they like, to put it in a Yogi Berra-esque turn of the phrase. And while you and others may sneer and call them all manner of derisive names, it doesn’t change the fundamental truth that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
So, the textbooks I write are certainly not Celine!, Focault!, or even comparable to any great writer. But, if they inform the reader and spur the imagination and creativity of a young person to go on to, you know, actually contribute to society in a concrete way, then by my measure they are truly worthy.
Don’t be so angry all the time, be grateful for another day to celebrate life. Thank God.
