Latest on Treach

From his Twitter stream:

Threw a coronary pulmonary (thanks, Pat) embolism, but he's still tweeting, so that's good.

Has an oxygen mask.

Will have to be on blood thinners for several months.

Has a machine that moves his leg around gently as phase one of his therapy.

Denied talking sexbot by his evil insurance company.

Anyway, Treach, you're in our thoughts and prayers.

  4. My prayers go out to him. I busted up my knee and it took me two years just to be weightbearing again, still using crutches, so I expect he will have a long recovery. That “moves his leg around gently” machine is called a range of motion machine. They kept me in one for four days until I was stable enough to operate on. I always thought it was kind of weird, since as soon as they operated, I was put in a full length cast for months and couldn’t move my knee or leg at all, so what was the point of the machine?

If he has already thrown an embolism, that is not good. With leg injuries, one of the biggest complications is blood clots and they can kill you. My Dad died from an embolism at age 49, caused by a 30 year old college football injury to his leg.

I blew out my knee in ’87 and although through much rehab, I went on to lead a pretty normal life, I was never entirely out of pain until I finally had a knee replacement in 2005. Now, I never even think about that knee. Tell Treacher that the best exercise after he is up on his feet is water therapy.

    Best of luck to him.

  5. Oh shit! Are we confident that his doctors are not “compromised”?

    Joking. Sorta.
