Enoch_Root – Saturday’s Easily Offended Guy
1) people who don't use their turn signals, keeping me pinned down from turning left as they approach from the left, only to turn onto the street I am waiting on for them to pass by
2) people who walk in front of me in the grocery while I am studying the shelves of food... and don't say, "excuse me."
3) gas station attendants who chat on the telephone while I am trying to buy something from them
4) my daughters' friends who call after 9pm - sometimes as late as 11pm
5) people who drop off their kids for us to babysit them without calling ahead. Not that 5 of our own are quite enough, but still.
6) people who jaywalk sloooooowly, as if purposefully/willfully/passive-aggressively, forcing entire lanes of traffic to stop - what gives?
7) Loud People
8 ) People who swear in public within earshot of my kids
9) busybodies who don't own mirrors
10) me - when I am feeling overly sensitive for noticing these things

Haha! I am too driven crazy by some of those…but really people just drop their kids by??? One of my biggest frustations are the people who drive 40 miles an hour down our hwy outside our neighborhood. It is clearly labeled 55. Oh, I wish they would just do 60…it makes the curves that much more fun!

I agree with most of these Enoch, except I don’t have any children to suffer their friends calling my house very late in the evening; nor do people arbitrarily drop their kids off for baby-sitting without notice…
Some of my wife’s girlfriends, carreer women in their 40′s with toddlers and new-borns, give me at least, you know, 5 minutes notice!
“something just came up and you’re so good with children, I’m sure Theresa will be home soon…”
But, like yourself I get most annoyed when I realize that I let the dynamic of life, whether it be discourtesies or whatever, annoy me.
But, you know brother, it’s all part of getting old. And, by realizing that your annoyance is both fruitless and in vain, you’ve staved off officially becoming “an old fart!” for at least one more day :)
But you might have a bit of fun with your daugters friends. When you answer the phone, and hold the reciever away while you call your daughter to the telephone, say in as loud and gruff a voice as you can muster while she’s approaching, “decent people don’t call people’s houses after 9 pm unless someone has died!”…
My father used to do this to my younger siblings when we were kids. We all knew it was a role he was playing to try and be finny, and still get a good laugh out of reminiscing about it today, but there were times when it made the caller wonder.
Be Cool!
