Patterico Forensically Demolishes Boehlert & Co. Over O’Keefe & Giles

Using their own lies posted on Twitter, as compared with the audio transcripts of O'Keefe and Giles' visits to various ACORN offices. The audio itself is available at Breitbart. Each audio file consists in two uncut versions, because Giles and O'Keefe each wore a microphone, so comparison of the tracks would reveal editing, had it occurred. Among the questions addressed: whether O'Keefe represented himself as a pimp and Giles as a prostitute who intended to continue to practice prostitution during interviews with ACORN regarding prospective housing loans to set up a brothel employing Salvadoran teens; whether ACORN employees ever counselled O'Keefe and Giles how to avoid paying taxes on their prostitution income; whether the Harshberger investigation, paid for by ACORN, was independent or comprehensive in any sense.

Elsewhere, news outlets are pleased to represent the Brooklyn DA's determination that ACORN counsel to fraud does not rise to criminality as exoneration, so Pat's got his work cut out for him.

Oh, and the Brooklyn DA's a Working Families Party member.

Matthew Vadum has information on an HUD investigation of ACORN housing, more pertinent to my post from yesterday. For those of you posting in my partial absence, thanks very much. I mean to catch up as soon as I can do so without eye strain.

As ACORN gears up to use your tax dollars to influence future elections, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is conducting a "massive" probe of ACORN Housing Corp., a source familiar with the ongoing investigation says.

A spokesman for HUD's inspector general refused to confirm or deny whether ACORN Housing was being investigated.

ACORN Housing is essential to ACORN's member recruitment program. The housing affiliate strongly encourages its clients to pay ACORN $120 a year to be part of the class struggle. Many of the ACORN employees Americans saw on the undercover prostitution sting videos last fall are actually ACORN Housing employees. ACORN Housing's website boasts that from 1986 to 2008 it counseled 338,025 clients, and originated 104,867 mortgages worth $15.5 billion.

The HUD probe comes as ACORN Housing, the best-funded of ACORN's affiliates, participates in the ACORN network-wide rebranding aimed at duping funders and the public and allowing ACORN to continue to devour government grants.

Read the whole thing. It's astonishing that people who rail against the Supremes' McCain-Feingold decision feel that it's somehow all right for organizations that are organized as politically neutral to arrogate AmeriCorps resources for partisan purposes. But that is the liberal conscience in action. Corporations are to be treated as persons? Well, what if persons could establish an entirely new identity unburdened by past transgressions simply by changing their name?

Don't you see that by politically opposing Obama you're trying to turn him into a one-term President? Don't you see that you're trying to get him assassinated?
