POWIP Piece of Work In Progress

3Mar/101

Thanks to Mike LaRoche

For the kind write up on my book, over at his site. No, I've not yet got the monitor thing straightened out, though thanks to Serr, I'm much closer to so doing. Also, the kittehs, sensing a weakening of the bond between myself and my computer have moved in for the kill, insisting on lying directly on top of it, if it's under the high-intensity lamp (perhaps because that is warmest, perhaps because of the delicious schadenfreude), or on my arms if there's enough daylight to use it elsewhere.

Enocht and crew have been doing a bit of pro bono work for some bloggers whom you'd probably know. I imagine that you'll hear more of this by week's end. Please do visit some of the people in the sidebar, and give them my kind regards, too. And don't be strangers. I'm always happy to be alerted to new stuff.

Meanwhile, Jules is enriching his knowledge of the history of Anglo-Iberian relations during the Early Modern period, particularly around the Armada. If I were suggesting reading to Jules, I'd probably tell him to get some good histories of Venice, so that I could talk to him about the subtext of Othello. Aidan's reading that in school, so I'm getting a good workout, as I have to unravel the language for him. I think the sharply drawn characters will appeal to him, though.

Dan Collins is a dude who blogs. He used to blog elsewhere. Now he blogs here.
