I think you have to stay signed in on your wordpress account. If you are signed in, then there is a tab or sidebar category titled “gravatar”, I believe, there you can upload a picture of your lovely self, or, you know, any other image you might prefer…

I’m pretty sure that’s how I did it, but admittedly it was months ago.
