Briefly, it's because I don't give a shit. I know what the dummy was trying to say. Hey, I get where Phineas is coming from, too, and turn about is fair play, I guess, but . . .

The real outrage is that his actions continually belie his post-racial posturing. Just today, Leahy said that he's not supporting any investigation into the New Black Panther fiasco at DOJ, for reasons that are entirely ludicrous. Shirley Sherrod, canned and then rehired by the White House, lionized by CNN, turns out not only to be the kind of racialist dimwit the Breitbart tape suggested, but also a stone cold entitlement whore who selfishly games the system.

Thanks to CNN and the continual lying of morons like Howard Dean, she's now an albatross tied tightly around the White House's neck. And as Jeff notes, eloquently, this circus isn't going to do the Democrats any favors. She's the Democrats' new Joe the Plumber, but without the wit, charm and intellect. And with a lot more venality. By the time this is over, she's going to hate Eric Boehlert for talking her into this.

Obama likes Pigford politics. Pigford politics likes Shirleys Sherrod. Typical white people? We're tired of this crap, though all of us being mongrels ought to simplify the census, don't you think?

UPDATE: They're trying to back off, now at CNN. Don Lemon talks about the pain and suffering portion of their settlement (~300k between them), but doesn't mention the 13 million bucks for the co-op. Just like a relative (how distant, we don't know) who was killed by a white man became Ms. Sherrod's father, for Joan Walsh, I think it was.
