Cowboy Update – And a Note on Friendship
Excellent News re Cowboy!
It is with great pleasure I announce to the POWIP faithful that Cowboy has received a clean bill of health... Yes, you heard me... a Clean Bill of Health - and all the benefits and privileges appertaining.
We got the "all clear" from the oncologist's report!! No cancer on the liver!! I want to let the POWIP crew know and--especially--to thank them for their prayers.
Thank you again so much for the prayers of POWIP writers and readers. I feel, without any doubt, that those prayers and thoughts were instrumental in my healing.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
And he did hear a sound rising over the snow.
It started in low. Then it started to grow.
But the sound wasn’t sad! Why, this sound sounded merry!
It couldn’t be so! But it WAS merry! VERY!
He stared down at Whoville! The Grinch popped his eyes!
Then he shook! What he saw was a shocking surprise!
Every Who down in Whoville, the tall and the small,
Was singing! Without any presents at all!
He HADN’T stopped Christmas from coming! IT CAME!
Somehow or other, it came just the same!
And the Grinch, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow,
Stood puzzling and puzzling: “How could it be so?”
“It came with out ribbons! It came without tags!”
“It came without packages, boxes or bags!”
And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before!
“Maybe Christmas,” he thought, “doesn’t come from a store.”
“Maybe Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!”
And what happened then? Well…in Whoville they say,
That the Grinch’s small heart Grew three sizes that day!
And the minute his heart didn’t feel quite so tight,
He whizzed with his load through the bright morning light,
And he brought back the toys! And the food for the feast!
And he, HE HIMSELF! The Grinch carved the roast beast!
Merry Christmas Cowboy!
;)
Anyone want to offer up another victim for the POWIP prayer circle? Let one of us know.

So very awesome. I would have given Cowboy my liver, but it’s probably not in very good shape.

Thank you, POWIP-ers. Thank you, thank you.
The specifics: one of our doctors looked at the most recent (and quite icky) tests and said about ten days ago that he thought the spot wasn’t cancerous. But I wanted to hear that from the oncologist on the team, who though he is a great guy, is a complete grouch and always calls them exactly how they are or worse. But about four days later, he sent me the message that what he saw was a hemangioma, rather than cancer…and that a hemangioma wasn’t anything to worry about, or in his words was “naturally occurring.” Sheesh, doctors.
After years, decades really, of holding my breath, the habit does not die quickly. I suppose I will always rely on the prayers of folks like you who so willingly gave them up to me and mine when they were most needed.
So, Danger (tight groups, ok?), Falahime, bh, bob reed (glad you’re back), ‘feets, Taichiwawa, joe, Mike LaRoche, Carin, serr8d, Ric Locke, BJTexas, Diana, JD, Lost My Cookies, Instreperous Infidel, Pablo, The Sanity Inspector, dicentra, guinsPen, Johanna, and especially Dan, and the indominatable Enoch Root–again…thanks for your prayers and you well wishes, er, wishes of wellness, wellitude, wellishness?
Just know that you guys are on MY list now!
Mathew, Catholic Cowboy

Thank God for the His graces, and for curing Cowboy. Reaffirming the faithful’s knowledge of the power of prayer, trusting in the Lowd’s mercy, and deepening the faith of us all a bit more.
