In Heroic Act of Metaphoresis, Metrodome Roof Collapses
That's the scuttlebutt, anyway.
Heavy snow has caused the roof of the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to collapse, a spokesman for the Minnesota State Patrol said Sunday.
A blizzard that hit the Midwest prompted officials Saturday night - before the roof collapsed - to postpone Sunday's scheduled NFL game between the Minneapolis Vikings and New York Giants. A statement from the Vikings cited "unsafe conditions related to the Metrodome roof and the weather."
I'm going to refer to the place as the Souffle from now on.

Dude, you’re right. Football’s meant to be played outside; in the rain, snow, and mud.
Imaging the home filed advantage that the teams in the North would enjoy if they didn’t play in domes.
Indeed, I can’t wait for the Saints to come to Baltimore next week and play outdoors in the cold…

They did, but ordinances aside, it was a budgetary problem.
The plan was to stack the center of the stadium full of $100 bills, which would be piled high enough to support the dome. Once the storm was done, the bills would be distributed through the seats for the season ticket holders to collect.
However, once it was realized that the season ticket holders were actually all members of the “Evil Rich” category, this plan was shelved.
The alternate plan of just giving the money to the Football team was also shelved when someone noted that the ownership and all of the players were making more than $200,000/year, and so could not be subsidized by the Government, since they weren’t producing ethanol or some other alternative energy.
So it goes.
