Well, This Could Be Awkward

The head of the International Monetary Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, was taken in custody on Saturday, minutes before he was to fly to Paris from John F. Kennedy International Airport, the authorities said.

He was accused of a sex attack on a maid earlier in the day at a Times Square hotel, the authorities said.

Mr. Strauss-Kahn, a candidate for president of France, was taken off an Air France flight by officers from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and turned over to Manhattan detectives, according to a Port Authority spokesman. He was expected to be taken to the offices of the Manhattan Special Victims Unit at P.S.A. 5 in Manhattan, another official said.

It was about 4:45 p.m. when plainclothes detectives of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey suddenly boarded the plane, Air France Flight 23, as it idled on the tarmac at the airport 10 minutes before it was scheduled to take off and took Mr. Strauss-Kahn into custody, according to an agency official.

The Port Authority officers were acting on information from the New York Police Department, whose detectives had been investigating a brutal attack of a woman employee at the hotel Sofitel New York, at 45 West 44th Street, in the heart of the city’s theater district.

The WaPo story makes it sound less brutal.

  1. I could go all Lower Arkansas here.

    “L I B”

That’s “Well, I’ll Be!” in Yankee talk.

But I couldn’t summon up that much surprise under the circumstances. A good proportion of the Elect seem to think that the “Help” is there to service them if the feel the need to be serviced.

(Witness Bill Clinton. Or JFK, just as examples.) At least the majority of the Republicans don’t feel that it’s appropriate to molest the Servants.

Although it could be noted that it depends on if you are a “Hereditary” Republican or an actual one. OTOH, GWB was an “Hereditary” one, and that’s one bad habit he apparently didn’t have.

Mitt Romney is still an open question, though, and we all know about Newt Gingrich.

‘Nough said on that subject. I’m fixing to get totally offensive here, and I have already implied everything I need to.

  2. Wasn’t the first time Strauss has had problems controlling his urges.

(Note the link says ‘sodomy’, the post title ‘oral sex’. Does that help explain the old fraternity cheer “No means yes, yes means anal!” ? )

  3. Actually, I’m waiting to see how our current USAG cancels the charges and sends him home.

We know that it’s going to happen. All we’re waiting for is to see what excuse they use to do it, right?

Holder doesn’t care about the Law. But he does care about getting some breaks the next time he goes to France. So there it is. Y’all just hide and watch.

  4. Since he’s French is the phrase “frog marched” inappropriate when describing his removal from the plane?
