POWIP Piece of Work In Progress – Former Abode of Dan Collins

9Jun/111

Thanks to Stacy and Bob Belvedere

for touting Douchecanoe Diaries here and here. I know that there are a lot of people who've written about Joanie Baloney, so I'm surprised nobody's sent me anything yet, but still hopeful.

I'm liable to be scarce around here for a couple of days, as I'm working on a project and have to take Aidan to White River Junction tomorrow, so feel free to post whatever you like.

Whatever you do, do not click on this link.

  1. Unfortuately I too will be a bit scarce; in and out, if I should even characterize it that way in the post-Weinergate environment.

You see, the day after Patty Ann’s passing, my sister-in-law Linda Smith did as well; in the middle of the night she succumbed to cancer. It’s been pretty tough on the whole family, especially my wife, her siblings, my mother-in-law, and her brother-Linda’s husband.

They live in Tampa, but most of the family is here in NYC. After some legal red-tape-clearing, Linda’s remains have been transported here today for a funeral in Monday. She will be waked in Brooklyn for on Saturday and Sunday. Of course, I’ll be spending a lot of time there and with the family, as can be expected and understood by all.

She was a fine, giving, Christian woman, who was more concerned for others well being, her sisters and her diabetic husband who requires dialysis thrice weekly, than for her own needs. I have no doubt that she’s at the Father’s table now, sharing in the banquet of salvation that all the faithful look forward to attending.

I didn’t post on it because I wasn’t sure if her husband or the family would want the internet exposure of their privacy and detail, and haven’t had an opportunity to broach the subject.

So while I may get something on the site over the weekend, chances are just a great that I may not…

I’d ask for any who read this and who are so inclined to pray for Linda, the husband and sisters who survive her, and indeed my entire extended family.

    I’ll be in touch.
