Proactively, for May day
I bring you some more of William Banzai7's creations
And another one is a play off of a Soviet era poster
Check out the entire group of artwork at the zerohedge link. There are some absolutely hilarious pieces where Ben Bernanke's picture is deftly inserted onto communist propaganda posters, and a particularly funny one of Hank Paulson's as Nikita Kruschev at the UN banging his shoe on the podium. And visit William's personal site as well. He has all kinds of goodies for sale so you can take his creations with you to go.
Also, speaking of May day and communism, check out Laura Ingraham interviewing Harry Alford, president and CEO of the National Black Chamber of Commerce. Dude! he unloads on Obama, calling him and his people "Marxists" and "fanatical", and says:
“Obama wanted the National Black Chamber to dance to his music and have blind allegiance to his crazy programs and agenda, which are totally anti-business. We are a pro-business organization. So we have to stand on the side of business, and the benefit of our members, which are black entrepreneurs.”
"They might as well put on the brown shirts and swastikas..."
But that’s not all. Alford also admitted he only voted for Obama “because he’s [Obama] black,” a move he now regrets.
“That is a lesson I will take to my grave,” he said solemnly, later saying Obama is “wrecking” the country and is “dangerous.”
Keep in mind that this is coming from a man who supported Obama in 2008. See the story with more quotations here. And listen to it at Real Clear Politics.
Review: Disastral Projector
From David Thompson:
Some classic projection in an art review by a member of the Midlands Young Communist league. Published in the Guardian, naturally...
“In one room, Jane and Louise Wilson’s film Star City, shot on location, is shown on all four walls using four projectors. It’s an all-encompassing, smothering experience, symbolising the capitalist state’s suppression of the individual for the sake of profit.”
Mr Hamdani’s grasp of reality is such that it is not in fact his beloved Communism that was “all-encompassing,” “smothering” and intent on “suppression of the individual.” Instead, these characteristics are assigned – one might say projected – to the freewheeling West, to which so many reluctant communists tried to flee.
"The exhibition’s main theme is escapism – both through the space race and science-fiction. I took this to be symbolic of the escape from capitalist barbarism that the Soviet system as a whole achieved.”
Readers may be surprised to discover that barbarism was unknown in the Soviet Union and other communist nations, where altogether more civilised standards were adhered to and 100 million souls died of entirely natural causes.
Obama’s New Default – The Obama Code
In Obama's world, we know that "pickup trucks" and driving them is code. Or, at least, that is what we are led to believe. This I was discussing with brother Tim. And as we explored the politics of the day, we happened upon something truly revolting.
If pickup trucks are some sort of badge of honor - code - for group identification promoting racism against Blacks on behalf of Whites, then is it fair to consider the word "bankers" and what Obama really means when he says that they are the cause of our current economic woes? And what does he mean by sanctioning them? Punishing them?
If I am given to understand it right, it would appear that Obama is embarking on the darkest, most maleficent of all ruses... pinning our current failures on one group of people. A group of people who have seen this sort of thing before. Again and again.
I am not comfortable with this code-speak that encourages ultimately - and can only lead to - out and out hostility toward "bankers."
How far will Obama push his new populist PR campaign?
But this is a tired and worn (though effective) approach - despicable - when it comes time to rally, vilify - and the vilification of Bush is played out - so, the truly disgusting create another enemy to "place blame upon." I am not at all comfortable with this sort of hatred.
