POWIP Piece of Work In Progress

Oh, and in case there was any doubt

General Holder? More like Major weasel!

AG Holder has shown his true color, so to speak.  Because, while the NBPP voter intimidation case isn't worthy of pursuing, even though the motivation's were "hate driven", in the parlance of the progressives, and the case was airtight, the shooting by the L.A. policeman most certainly is !

"The Civil Rights Division, the U.S. Attorney's Office, and the FBI have an open investigation into the fatal shooting and, at the conclusion of the state's prosecution, will conduct an independent review of the facts and circumstances to determine whether the evidence warrants federal prosecution."

It seems that Congresswoman Barbara Lee, D-Oakland, is pushing for the DOJ to pile a federal prosecution on top of California's finding.

"I remain in close contact with the Department of Justice and will continue to work with them, the family and the community in the days ahead," she said in a statement.

Lee said she stands with Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums, the City Council and community leaders in supporting people who want to express themselves.

Express themselves how?...By rioting and looting ?!?

So let's make sure we have this straight...AG Holder believes that in the case of the NBPP voter intimidation, one not adjudicated nor pursued by the state in which the offense occurred, doen't rise to the level of federal action.  Nothing to see here, just move along...

But, in the police shooting case, handled by the state relatively swiftly and where the now guilty party is awaiting sentancing?  An OUTAGEOUS! MISCARRIAGE! OF JUSTICE WORTHY OF PURSUING.

And the rioting and looting?  Well, that's just folks expressing themselves...

There must be some California cultural nuance I'm missing.

And, I guess this lends even more credibility to DOJ whistleblower J. Christian Adams' assertions.  I wonder why all of the usual suspects aren't engaging in academy award winning performances of demonstrative public handwringing over the "politicization" of the DOJ?  Oh yeah, that's right; their guy, their agenda, their political benefit, their desired result...No Problem!

Flash: majority think KSM should be tried by military tribunal.

In the first poll taken since AG Holder's announcement that KSM and 4 other Guantanamo bay terrorists will be tried in a NY City Federal court, Real Clear Politics reports that by nearly a 2 to 1 margin repondents thought that the suspects should be tried before a military tribunal as opposed to civilian court.  It's impossible to glean political affiliation from the cross tabs, but the overwhelming disagreement with the administrations position doesn't bode well for the public's perception of any show-trial circus drama that may come out of the trial.  Now the only question is, did Obama sufficiently immunize himself from any political fallout of the announcement by his overseas absence when it was announced?  Or will the public rightly realize that the buck stops in the Oval office?

Given this initial reaction, it's hard to see how that will be the case; unless, of course, AG Holder is next in line at the bus stop...
