SanityInspector's post at PW caught my eye - in part because I am an ego-centric, prideful ass-hat... but also because I think he nails where I was for many days... resisting the inevitable conclusion (in my opinion) of islamic interloping into the West's meatspace.

Beyond SI's great piece about the dangers of going down the Logic Hole (and his trepidation surrounding doing just that), the following comment stopped me in my tracks (as much as having SI even notice my little post):

Jihad begets crusade a surely as day follows night. We are only human. Still.

I don't know what to add. Really. This is the truth of it: eventually we will be forced to pick sides. I am sure of it... and eventually we will be forced to join in the fracas. And eventually we will be forced to defend ourselves, our loved ones, and our treasures (and I do not mean the ones which can be stored).

So, Clan O'Coileain makes this commitment to you, dear Reason and Truth: My wife and I will continue to raise our Five (5) Crusaders - Defenders of the Faith. Defenders of the West's Cumulative Wisdom. Defenders of the Light that is clear thought and critical thinking.

How much for Liberty? Me and mine... we give freely so that others might enjoy what we ourselves have not ourselves earned and do not deserve to be able to claim as our own. It is not, perhaps, free afterall.
